Aquatic Animal-Step It Up

Today, I did the Aquatic Animal Step It Up Activity. It really challenged me to use my creativity to create something new. I decided to create a new type of jellyfish, so here is the jellyfish and its description:

Name: Bioluminescent Uniter

Habitat: in the Tonga Trench, they move in groups.

Consumes: Amphipods

Ability: Bioluminescent and electric at the yellow bids on the bottom of the tentacles. Normally, when faced with danger the Bioluminescent Uniter groups up together and forms a bigger animal.

While making Bioluminescent Uniter, I thought about how jellyfish are known as just beings in the ocean that pursue the waves. So I decided that, alone, they are weak, but together, they are strong.

I used the polyline to make the main shape of the jellyfish and the tentacles. Then I used shapes to make the electric part and the main bioluminescent place by the bell.

Overall I had lots of fun making the Bioluminescent Uniter, what do you think I could add to it?

  1. Kia Ora Nika,

This is Zana from the Summer Learning Journey, again.

What an interesting step up activity, I like that creativity required to design your own unique aquatic animal. I know I personally would go down the shark route as they are my favourite animal but I am interested to see what everyone else does differently.

I like that your aquatic animal links in with your previous post on jellyfish. Your new design is interesting, I like that it is bioluminescent and I love the yellow bids at the end of its tentacles. Is your jellyfish a stinger?

I think you could add some examples of it swimming as a group, maybe an example of the shapes they may make.

I hope to see more posts from you!!

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates
