Cage Diving with Sharks

This week and last week we have been reading a text called Cage Diving with Sharks. This text is about a girl sharing her time cage diving, about how the cage diving brought trouble in the town, and she shared some facts about sharks. We also had to do some activities such as: creating a fact file about great white sharks, having a group talk about great white sharks, and recording ourselves reading some parts of the text.

My favourite activity was creating a fact file. I really liked it because I got to find out so much new facts about sharks and it helped me remember what a fact file is.

Here’s my fact file:

What are the things that you just found out about great white sharks in this poster

Tane Mahuta

Last week we work on a story called the Tane Mahuta, for the story we had to summarize the story with 50 words, answer some questions and record ourselves reading a page of the story. The idea of the story is a girl have trouble to sleep running away from home because she wanted some time alone, from the text evidence we guessed that she was bullied at school. The part that was kinda hard is slide 5 because there was 1 or 2 words that I didn’t understand.

The Trojan Horse

This week and last week we were learning about the Trojan horse. We did some slides about the story, some activity that we did was: answer some questions, make a book cover, and a postcard. I really enjoyed all the activity especially the book cover. The hardest part was when we had to write a postcard, because we had to make our own address. Making a random address isn’t always to easy. The best part of the story is when the plan tricked the Trojans and took over the city. Do you know this story?

The Amazing Kiwi North!

Recently we had Susan from kiwi North visiting us, and this year it’s about the ocean. We did some activities like: word search, food diagram, and Susan showed us some skins of fishes.

Something that Susan taught me was the nudibranchs, nudibranch are a soft body animals that looks like slugs. Nudibranchs are very colorful. Not many people know them or have seen nudibranch because they are usually at the bottom of the ocean. Another very cool thing that she taught us was the the animals that was vertebrates. Vertebrates animals are the type of animals that has a backbone, some animals that are vertebrates are: penguins, whales and dolphins. Another type of animals are the invertebrates, they are the type of animals that doesn’t have backbones, like: crabs, and nudibranch.

The one activity that I enjoyed the most is painting the nudibranch sculptures. The reason is because nudibranch are actually very colorful, so I could color it anything I want. I could also use my imagination to choose the color wisely. Susan has truly teached me a lot of things because I don’t know much about the sea, even tho I live by the sea. Next time I would love to learn more about jellyfishes.

How To Take Care Of Your Chromebook!

We have been learning about how to take care of our Chromebooks and what to do with it, what not to do with it.

This is my DLO to remind everyone what not to do with their Chromebooks.

I created it by using a Google drawing and added some shapes to create the table. Lastly I used some pictures for the charters and added some speech boxed.

I am proud of my mahi because I took some tips that I sometimes forget and try reminding others while reminding myself.

Something that was quite challenging was to find something that could really help reminding the people, because other other ones are very basic.

My tips about caring for your device are: never leave your Chromebook on the ground by itself or people will accidentally step on it.
